Two years ago (2017) I was 5 months postpartum , after our 3rd baby, at 165 pounds. At the same time we were bringing my 3 year old son into the doctor for sleep apnea due to excessive snoring. My son also falls under a 'picky eater' category and I was constantly feeding him dairy: milk at breakfast, cheese for a snack, quesadilla for lunch, the list goes on. In July of 2017 I stopped having dairy in our house. I intuitively knew the way I was feeding my son and my daughters was less then ideal. After a month or so I took all of the animal products out of my house.
Within weeks of taking the dairy and meat out of our household, and I am not making this up, my son's snoring stopped. Stopped. No snoring. None. I have a hard time believing this even as I write it. In addition to the snoring coming to a complete stop, our three kids have not gotten nearly as sick with colds and virus's like they did prior years.
If our kid's health isn't enough proof then let me take mine. After a year of being on a whole food, plant based diet my body weight is down to 125 pounds and I fit a size 2-4. I am leaner, stronger and have more energy then I ever have had. In one year I had lost 40 pounds. In two years of eating this way I have maintained 125 pounds. That is not a coincidence. It has been easy for me to lose the weight and to gain strength and energy eating a whole foods, plant based diet. I did not set out to lose 40 pounds. Once I changed some habits it's almost as if the weight has fallen off.
I need to share this story of mine and my family because it has been life changing. My passion for eating and living a healthy lifestyle is what I do and I want to share it. I want to help others find the same out comes. I want you to be the healthiest version of yourself.
I am 20 year careered personal trainer and coach. I live and breathe health and fitness. It's the thing I am most passionate about. I feel my best when I optimize my well being everyday and I want you to do the same!
I have completed numerous training and coaching certifications. I have done tons of research about nutrition, diet and exercise. I have ran marathons, completed Ironman triathlons, and was a two-year team captain on a Division 1 swim team through college. I know how our bodies work and I know how to fuel them.
Having worked with clients the past 20 years I have seen it all. I know through my experience with a wide range of clients and my own experience as an athlete what it takes to make exercise and diet habits change and how to make them stay!
I want to work with you. I want to break it down to the basics of what a balance of weight training, cardiovascular exercise and a healthy diet look like. I want you to understand it, simplify it and make new habits that will ultimately lead you to succeed and stick with it.
My goal for you is not to be the latest workout fad or the latest diet trend. My plan is not a 12 week program that ends. My plan for you is to create an understanding of why you need to incorporate movement, resistance training and healthy eating as a way of life. I want you to increase the quality of your life every single day by feeling good, confident and creating a momentum within that feeling that is unstoppable.
